DESCRIPTION
- Just like they did in 1989 for baseball, 1991 Upper Deck Football helped bring about a major change in NFL cards. The card maker's debut gridiron set led the charge in giving football cards a premium makeover.
- The 1991 Upper Deck Football base set is big, coming in at 700 total cards.
- Brett Favre leads the set's rookie cards. There are lots of rookies available, but none have nearly the amount of appeal as the future Super Bowl Champion.
- The white-border design is not complex but the glossy card stock and bright images make them instantly stand out when compared to the year's other football sets. Backs offer a second action shot to go along with the stats.
- Mimicking other sports, both Low and High Series packs have an SP insert.
- The most recognizable inserts are the Football Heroes. Joe Montana's career is featured in the first group of cards, which are in Low Series packs.
- 1991 Upper Deck Football also has nine Game Breaker holograms.
