- 1990 Fleer Baseball is a 660-card set ordered alphabetically within each team. The teams are ordered by their respective performance during the 1989 season.
- There are three subsets within the set: Decade Greats (621-630), Superstar Combinations (631-639), and Rookie Prospects (640-653), plus checklists (654-660.)
- Card fronts feature an action or posed photo, on white, non-glossy card stock, with the photo framed by a team-colored border. Card backs are vertically oriented, with the player name, statistics, and career stats by year.
- Key Rookie Cards in this set include Moises Alou, Juan Gonzalez, David Justice, Sammy Sosa, and Larry Walker.
