Configuration: 38 total cards
DESCRIPTION
- 1989 Bowman Baseball is a 484-card set.
- The design of the set was meant to resemble the 1953 Bowman Color Baseball set, and each card measures 2.5" X 3.75" -- a quarter-inch longer than the post-1957 standard-size trading card. As a result, the cards do not fit into standard-sized 9-pocket sheets, top-loaders, or cardboard set boxes.
- The set is arranged alphabetically by team's city name starting with the American League then National League, with a three-card Fathers & Sons subset in-between.
- Notable Rookie Cards include Ken Griffey, Jr., Gary Sheffield, Tino Martinez, and John Smoltz.
